CORE FUNCTIONS OF NKF WELFARE DEPARTMENT

  • Perform the social and financial assessment of new applicants for admission into the NKF Haemodialysis Programme;
 
  • Counsel patients and their families to manage and improve their emotional, social, psychological, physical and financial well-being;
 
  • Investigate and process applications for NKF subsidies from NKF patients;
 
  • Perform the yearly review of patients in NKF dialysis centres to ensure their compliance and update their current socio-economic status;
 
  • Organise the bimonthly meetings of the Patient Selection and Welfare Committee for formal approval of new applications and settle other issues related to patient welfare;
 
  • Network with relevant government and non-government agencies to assist patients with financial and other problems;
 
  • Support the activities of the NKF Patient Support Group.
