BERJAYA DONATES RM130,000 FOR 5 YEARS OPERATING COST FOR NKF-BERJAYA RESOURCE CENTRE
NKF was one of the recipients honoured to receive RM130,000 for the maintenance of our educational resource centre for patients for a period of 5 years. Dr Lee Wan Tin, Member Board of Directors of NKF, received the mock cheque on behalf of NKF.
SRI KDU PRIMARY SCHOOL GIVES H.O.P.E. TO NKF
Under their H.O.P.E. (Helping Out People Everywhere) Project, the whole of the Sri KDU Primary School Community raised RM45,000 for a Haemodialysis machine to be donated to NKF. Children of 7-12 years of age participated in raising the funds.
Teachers from the school discipline board coordinated the project leading to RM39,684.51 being raised through collections, donations and sales of NKF coin boxes. The machine was placed at Pusat Dialisis NKF – Yayasan Dialisis Pertubuhan Pendidikan Akhlak, Taiping.
At the presentation ceremony, Ms Cheam Hay Lee, the School Deputy Head Prefect accompanied by the School Headmaster, Mr Djohann Iskandar Kwan Abdullah, presented the mock cheque to NKF Chief Executive Officer, Chua Hong Wee.
DANA ASY SYAKIRIN PRESENTED 6 DIALYSIS MACHINES TO NKF
NKF was truly honoured to receive from Dana Asy Syakirin (Dana), the Petronas Trust Fund, 4 Haemodialysis machines and 2 dialyser reprocessors amounting to RM244,000.
At a presentation ceremony on 16 April 2014, Dato’ Dr. Zaki Morad Mohd Zaher, Chairman of the NKF Board of Directors received a cheque for the machines from Puan Raiha Azni A Rahman, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Dana.
MOONCAKE FESTIVE CHEERS
At the end of sharing the joy in celebrating the 2014 Mooncake festival which fell on 8 September, NKF received RM 26,835.14 from the sales of mooncakes.
The Foundation had entered into an arrangement with KLT Food Industries Sdn. Bhd. to supply a range of beautifully refined low sugar mooncakes with the objective of selling them to raise monies for the 1,550 poor patients dialyzing in its 28 centres.
KUMPULAN FARMASI VITACARE SDN. BHD. (VITACARE) PRESENTED THE 10TH DIALYSIS MACHINE TO NKF
On 6 August 2014 Vitacare in its continuous support since 2003 to the NKF life-saving mission presented the Foundation with yet another dialysis machine worth RM40,000. This is the 10th consecutive machine donated by the company.
The show kicked off with a welcome speech by Dr. Lee Wan Tin, a member of the NKF Board of Directors and a token presentation toMr. Jason Loh, the Managing Director of Loh & Loh Corporation Bhd.
Ms. Aileen Chong, the General Manager of the company, presented the machine to CEO Chua Hong Wee at Pusat Dialisis NKF -Dato’ Dr. G. A. Sreenevasan (Petaling Jaya) where the machine was placed.
TRIBUTE TO SAM HUI CHARITY CONCERT
In collaboration with NKF and the Blind Empowerment Society Selangor, a charity event themed “Tribute to Sam Hui for charity” jointly organized by YFL, Chartered Accountants and S2 Signature, was successfully held on 10 September 2014 with a net contribution of RM83,000 to purchase 2 units of dialysis machines for Pusat Dialisis NKF-Dato’ Dr. G.A. Sreenevasan (Petaling Jaya). The dialysis machines were handed over on 29 September 2014.
SOCSO DONATED 2 HAEMODIALYSIS MACHINES TO NKF DIALYSIS CENTRE IN SARAWAK
On 20 September 2014, SOCSO presented two hemodialysis machines worth RM80,000 to Pusat Dialisis NKF – Kidney Association of Sarawak/Rotary Kuching located at the Hock Kui Commercial Centre in Kuching, Sarawak.
The machines were part of the total of 9 machines the social security organisation had donated to NKF and they were all of the same value. The remaining 7 machines were placed at different dialysis centres in Peninsular Malaysia.

LARGER THAN LIFE – BROADWAY AND WEST END MUSICALS
Loh & Loh Corporation Bhd. for the third successive year on 11 October 2014 sponsored another show of the Dama Concert in aid solely of the National Kidney Foundation. This time, it was the musical “Larger Than Life” which played to a nearly full house through the invaluable support of NKF donors, supporters, associates, vendors and partners.
A substantial sum of RM108,909 was received from the sales of tickets from the show. Prior to the commencement of the show, Dr. Thiruventhiran, the Vice Chairman of the Foundation presented a token of appreciation to Mr. Jason Loh, the Managing Director of Loh & Loh.
TOYOTA CLASSICS 2014 CONCERT
The National Kidney Foundation of Malaysia (NKF) on the night of 11 November 2014 received a donation of a Toyota Hiace van by UMW Toyota Motor Sdn. Bhd. The vehicle was part of the outcome in celebrating the 25th anniversary of Toyota Classics – Toyota Classics 2014. The funds were raised from the sales of tickets to the 182 seats priced at RM60, RM120, RM170 and RM220 each at Dewan Filharmonik Petronas. Guests of honour for the night were DYMM Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj Ibni Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Alhaj and YABhg. Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah binti Haji Mohamad Ali.
The Sultan later presented mock-ups of donations to the beneficiaries. NKF CEO, Chua Hong Wee received the mock cheque presentation for the Foundation.
NKF RECEIVED 2 AUTOMATED DIALYSER REPROCESSORS FROM MAH SING FOUNDATION
On 21 September 2014 Mah Sing Foundation (MSF) held a fundraising charity dinner with the theme “Building Lives Together” at the Shangri-La Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
At the function, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Leong Hoy Kum, the founder of MSF made mock cheque presentations to beneficiaries including NKF which received 2 automated dialyser reprocessors.
RIMBAYU’S FRIENDSHIP CHARITY RUN 2014
The Rimbayu’s Friendship Charity Run 2014 was organized by IJM Land Bhd on 27 September 2014 and was a fun run covering a distance of 6 kilometers with 3 intermittent stops. It kicked off in the morning from The Arc in Bandar Rimbayu, Kota Kemuning in Shah Alam.
NKF received a mock cheque for RM10,000, which was presented by Dato’ Soam Heng Choon, the CEO and Managing Director of IJM Land Bhd to NKF CEO Chua Hong Wee.
