Early Detection & Prevention Saves Lives Program

The Public Education Department continues to double its efforts in creating awareness and educate the public as the prevalence of chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and kidney disease continues to rise.

To promote health and wellbeing among adults, teenagers and children through exhibition and roadshow on the importance of early prevention and awareness of kidney disease and kidney associated diseases.

There are over 20,000 kidney failure patients still waiting for kidney transplantation whereas more than 30,000 patients are commencing dialysis treatment, therefore NKF is determined to raise awareness on the importance of organ donation & organ transplantation. National Transplant Resource Centre (NTRC) of Ministry of Health is the agency that handles all issues related to organ donation and transplantation. NKF supports NTRC in term of organ transplantation awareness and education especially for kidney.
