School Outreach

School is considered as a place for learning where children learnt not only subjective knowledge but also lifestyle practice and health seeking behavior. Childhood is the age of learning and it is the time when a child start developing practices and attitudes towards health. Thus, NKF School Outreach Programme targeting the school children to inculcate kidney health awareness through healthy eating habits and physical activity from young age in order to achieve quality of life in term of optimum growth, development and learning potential.

Kidney awareness at school strives to provide school based health awareness education, along with school/community projects and outreach, health promotion programmes for staff, nutrition and food safety programmes, opportunities for physical education and recreation.

Some of the activities that specifically target children include:

Pre School Children 

• Feature interactive & fun-filled activities on food pyramid, focusing on making healthier choices as well as physical activity.
• Colouring contest
• Health talk
• Distribution of educational materials to children.
