Fundraising Activities in 2015

THE CHINA PRESS BHD DONATED 5 DIALYSIS MACHINES

On 13 February 2015, at a ceremony held at Pusat Dialisis NKF – Charis (Cheras), Kuala Lumpur, The China Press Bhd presented two dialysis machines to NKF. On hand to receive the machines from Mr. Tan Boon Song and Ms. Lai Fong Ling of the newspaper publication was NKF CEO, Mr. Chua Hong Wee.

In addition, The China Press Bhd. donated 3 other dialysis machines which had been placed at 2 other dialysis centres of NKF.

NKF is sincerely grateful to The China Press Bhd for the gifts of the 5 machines which would enable the Foundation to continue in providing dialysis treatment to the poor patients suffering from chronic kidney disease (CKD).

TASEK CORPORATION BHD BOUGHT NKF A NEW DIALYSIS MACHINE

On 13 February 2015, Tasek Corporation Bhd, a company listed in the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd at a ceremony at Pusat Dialisis NKF – Yayasan Dialysis Pendidikan Akhlak Perak (Ipoh) presented a dialysis machine for NKF.
At the presentation, NKF CEO Mr. Chua Hong Wee received the machine on behalf of the Foundation from Mr.Benc Cha Poh On, the Group Human Resource Manager of the company.

LATTER-DAY SAINT CHARITIES (LDSC) PRESENTED A NEW DIALYSIS MACHINE

On 4 February 2015 LDSC at a ceremony at Pust Dialisis NKF – Good Health (Kampung Pandan, Kuala Lumpur) presented a new dialysis machine to NKF for use by kidney patients suffering from end stage renal failure at the centre.

Onhand to receive the machine from the representatives of LDSC led by Elder Sidand Sister Linda Thatcher was NKF CEO, Mr. Chua Hong Wee.

TOYOTA TSUSHO (MALAYSIA) SDN BHD DONATED TO NKF

On 23 January 2015 at a cheque presentation ceremony in the NKF head office, Mr. Hitoshi Kitagawa, the Managing Director of Toyota Tsusho (M) Sdn Bhd presented a mock cheque for RM15,000 to NKF CEO, Mr. Chua Hong Wee.

The kind gift by the company was to help towards sustaining NKF as part of its continuous efforts in providing subsidized dialysis treatment to poor patients suffering from chronic kidney disease.

“FROM GIFT TO GIFTS 2” BY LEO CLUB, SMK DAMANSARA JAYA

The Club organized a concert themed “From Gift to Gifts 2” on the evening of 7 March 2015 at the Auditorium of Majlis Perbandaran Petaling Jaya (MPPJ). Performances were by students intending to demonstrate their talents, and tickets to the concert were priced at RM20, RM50, RM100 and RM200. Apart from the sales of tickets, the Club also welcomed donations for the concert.
Amongst those that attended the concert was NKF Head of Branding, Communications & Fundraising, Ms. S. Shobana, who received on behalf of NKF a mock payment for RM40,888.88 being the sum for the purchase of the haemodialysis machine to be placed at Pusat Dialisis NKF – Rotary Damansara (Batu Caves, Selangor).

WOMEN IN TRAVEL ASSOCIATION DONATES AGAIN TO NKF

On 8 March 2015 during an afternoon tea party celebrating the dissolution of the WIT (Women in Travel Association) at the Top Hats Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur, NKF was one of the beneficiaries of the monies the association was disbursing from the balance in its bank account.

The function was attended by NKF CEO Mr. Chua Hong Wee and Ms. S.Shobana, the NKF Head of Branding, Communications & Fundraising. A cheque for RM13,000 was presented to Mr. Chua Hong Wee by the founding members of the Association.

iQor DONATED TO NKF

On 21 April 2015 at a cheque presentation ceremony held at Pusat Dialisis NKF – FO YI (Unit II) Penang, the National Kidney Foundation of Malaysia (NKF) received a mock cheque from Telmar Network Technology Sdn Bhd (an iQor Company) as part of the global 2014 iQor Qares donation drive.

At the ceremony, Mr. Chua Hong Wee, the CEO of NKF, received a mock cheque for RM23,941.60 on behalf of the Foundation from Mr. Steve Deacon, Regional Vice President of iQor and Mr. Richard Tan, iQor’s Operations Director.

EMPLOYEES OF DHL INFORMATION SERVICES (ASIA-PACIFIC) SDN. BHD. DONATED TO NKF A NEW DIALYSIS MACHINE TOGETHER WITH MEDICAL CONSUMABLE

On 17 April 2015, arising from donations by employees towards the corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme of DHL Information Services (Asia-Pacific) Sdn. Bhd., the company presented NKF with a brand new dialysis machine together with its medical consumable worth RM47,000.
At the height of the ceremony Mr. S. Yogan, VP Business Relations & Site Manager ITS Cyberjaya – DHL, together with NKF Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Chua Hong Wee, placed a plaque on the machine.

MS. FADZILLAH HASHIM WITH HER GENEROSITY

On 21 April 2015, Ms. Fadzillah Hashim presented a dialysis machine to the National Kidney Foundation of Malaysia (NKF). The presentation was carried out at Pusat Dialsis NKF – Yayasan Sultanah Bahiyah (Kulim) where the donated dialysis machine is being placed.
On hand to receive the machine, which had been purchased through a personal donation of RM38,000 by Ms. Fadzillah Hashim was Mr. Chua Hong Wee, the NKF CEO.

11 YEAR OLD BOY DONATES TO NKF

On 3 April 2015, Master Eugene Ooi together with his father and mother called at the office of the Fundraising Department of NKF with a mock cheque for RM500 to show the amount of money he was handing over following his solo fund raising efforts.
On hand to receive the cheque as a symbolism for the hand-over of the money were Puan Dzuriakristina Azmi and Ms. Joanne Sim, both staff from NKF’s Fundraising Department.

AERODANCE #STAYFIT: UITM STUDENTS RAISED FUNDS TO PURCHASE MACHINE FOR NKF

On 23 May 2015, final year students in public relations from the Faculty of Communications and Media Studies, Universiti Technologi Mara (UiTM) held a two hour non-stop aerodance session at Laman Budaya, Shah Alam.
The session was part of the aero-dance programme with the theme #Stayfit to raise funds for the benefit of kidney patients in NKF. To-date, this project raised RM14,495.95. This is a long term project and aims to purchase an asset for NKF.

LEO ROAR FIESTA RAISED RM21,500 FOR NKF

On 21 April 2015 Miss Prisca Toh, President of the Leo Club Metro Methodist College Kuala Lumpur, presented a mock cheque for RM21,500 to NKF at the premises of the Methodist College Kuala Lumpur (MCKL) in Brickfields. On hand to receive the cheque was Mr. Chua Hong Wee, the CEO of the Foundation.
The money was raised by the club under the guardianship of the Lions Club of Sunway Damansara Metro District 308 B2 (Malaysia), via its first ever Roar Fiesta Carnival organised on 14 March 2015 at MCKL.

STAR FOUNDATION DONATED A DIALYSIS MACHINE TO NKF

On 6 November 2015 Star Foundation, which is a charitable arm of the Star Media Group, presented a dialysis machine worth RM45,000 to NKF.

The machine was presented by a trustee of the Star Foundation, Mr. Tan Chong Seng, to Mr. Chua Hong Wee, the Chief Executive Officer of NKF at a ceremony held at Pusat Dialisis NKF – Dato’ Dr. G.A. Sreenevasan (Petaling Jaya).

The machine is now being placed and used at Pusat Dialisis NKF-Yayasan Pembangunan Keluarga Darul Ta’azim (Johor Bahru) in Permas Jaya, Johor.

DONATIONS VIA MOONCAKES ADDED TO INCOME OF NKF

For the second consecutive year, 2015 saw the close partnership between NKF and KLT Food Industries Sdn. Bhd. in raising monies to help sustain the day-to-day operations of the Foundation. These operations are essentially in providing dialysis treatment at the Foundation’s various centres throughout the nation to the poor and needy patients.

The partnership was in commemoration of the annual celebration for the Mid-Autumn Festival on 27 September 2015 with mooncakes being proffered as gifts to relatives, friends, business partners and associates at a time of thanksgiving and get together, or for own consumption.

A range of low sugar mooncakes of three sets and various flavours was produced out of this arrangement. All the cakes came packed in beautifully decorated boxes. A total of RM 46,111.18 was raised by NKF through the sales of the mooncakes.

PRESENTATION OF A DIALYSIS MACHINE BY ANGKASA

On 23 October 2015, Associate Professor Datuk Haji Mohammad Ali Hasan the Vice-President of Angkatan Koperasi Malaysia Bhd (ANGKASA) at a ceremony at Pusat Dialisis NKF -Nanyang (Setapak, Kuala Lumpur) presented a dialysis machine worth RM45,000 to NKF.

Encik Nor Rosli Bin Bujal, the Dialysis Manager of the Foundation’s Medical Department received the machine on behalf of NKF, witnessed by Ms. S. Shobana, the NKF Head of Branding, Communications & Fundraising as well as members of the staff from ANGKASA and the dialysis centre.

The machine concerned is now being placed at Pusat Dialisis NKF–Nanyang (Setapak, Kuala Lumpur).

NKF AS CHARITY PARTNERS IN THE KUALA LUMPUR “RUN TO GIVE” 2015

On 3 November 2015, Mr. Charlie Dang, the Regional Vice-President for South East Asia of Starwood Hotels & Resorts at a ceremony held at the NKF head office handed over a mock cheque for RM17,088 to the Foundation. On hand to receive the cheque was Mr. Chua Hong Wee, the NKF Chief Executive Officer.

The money was to assist the Foundation in its day-to-day operations to provide dialysis to the poor patients suffering from chronic kidney disease (CKD). The money was raised during the Kuala Lumpur “Run To Give” 2015 organised by 5 hotels of the Starwood Hotels and Resorts, namely, the Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral, Four Points By Sheraton Puchong, Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur, The Westin Kuala Lumpur and Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur.

BEST WESTERN PETALING JAYA RAISED FUNDS IN AID OF NKF PATIENTS

In conjunction with the Christmas and New Year celebrations, Best Western Petaling Jaya raised RM220 from amongst its staff and guests for the benefit of poor patients dialysing in NKF. NKF thanks all concerned for their generosity.
