Fundraising Activities in 2018

HARLOW’S & MGI SDN BHD GIFTED NKF WITH A DIALYSIS MACHINE

On 30 January 2018, Mr. Chua Hong Wee, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) of Malaysia received a new dialysis machine from Encik Shaharudin Othman, the Chief Executive Officer of Harlow’s & MGI Sdn Bhd (HGMI) at Pusat Dialisis NKF-Dato’ GA Sreenevasan (Petaling Jaya).

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has been an integral part of their work culture. HGMI donated their first dialysis machine to NKF in 2014 and this was placed in Pusat Dialisis NKF Nanyang (Setapak).

MADAM ONG SIEW KEE DONATED A HAEMODIALYSIS MACHINE TO NKF

On 20 January 2018, NKF received the donation of a haemodialysis machine at a handover ceremony at Pusat Dialisis NKF – Charis (Cheras).

The presentation climaxed with the placing of the plaque on the machine by Madam Ong Siew Kee with the assistance of her sons.

NKF RECEIVED RM20,871 FROM NETAPP

In conjunction with the Chinese New Year 2018 celebrations and appreciation of its vendors NetApp, a data storage company, held two dinners with one in the Sheraton Petaling Jaya Hotel on 27 February and another at the Eastern and Oriental Hotel in Penang on 1 March 2018.

During the functions, the NetApp vendors set up booths to sell soft toys to raise funds solely for the benefit of the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) of Malaysia.

FROM GIFT TO GIFTS 5

24 March 2018 marked the 5th consecutive year the Leo Club of SMK Damansara Jaya (SMKDJ) raised funds to purchase a dialysis machine for NKF through the “From Gift to Gifts” Charity Concert.

This was made possible under the continuous guidance and support from the Lions Club of Petaling Jaya.

NKF RECEIVED DONATION FROM PUSPANITA FOR 2 MACHINES

On 16 April 2018, the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) of Malaysia received a donation for RM82,000 from the Association of Wives and Women Within The Public Service (PUSPANITA) to purchase 2 haemodialysis machines.

A mock cheque for the machines was presented by Tan Sri Dr. Ali Hamsa, the Chief Secretary to the Government of Malaysia-cum-Adviser of PUSPANITA to Mr. Chua Hong Wee, the NKF Chief Executive Officer at Dewan Seri Endon, Puspanitapuri in Putrajaya.

PERKESO GENEROUSLY PRESENTED NKF WITH 42 HAEMODIALYSIS MACHINES

On 24 April 2018, the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) of Malaysia received a donation of 42 haemodialysis machines by Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial (PERKESO) during a ceremony held at the NKF Secretariat premises.

The presentation was made by Dr. Edrin Nazri Bin Abdul Rasib, the Head of PERKESO’s Health Promotion and Prevention Division.

On hand to receive the presentation was Dato’ Dr. Zaki Morad Mohd Zaher, the Chairman of the NKF’s Board of Directors.

The 42 dialysis machines worth a total of RM1.68 million which are to be located at 23 centres of the Foundation.

NKF RECEIVED RM61,550 FROM MAXIS CHARITY JOGATHON

Maxis employees in organising the Maxis Charity Jogathon raised over RM30,000. The amount was matched by Maxis Bhd to bring up to a total of RM61,550 which was presented by Mr. Robert Nason, the Executive Director of Maxis Bhd.

SERBA DINAMIK HOLDINGS BHD (SDHD) GAVE RM10,000

At its “Majlis Berbuka Puasa – Kumpulan Serba Dinamik 2018” on 11 June 2018 at the Concorde Hotel Shah Alam, Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd (SDHB), selected the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) as one of its beneficiaries under its charity programmes.

Tuan Haji Abdul Kadier Bin Sahib, Y.M. Dato Pangeran Awang Daud Bin Pangeran Putera and Dato’ Dr. Ir. Mohd Abdul Karim Bin Abdullah, the founders of Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd (SDHB) handed a mock cheque for RM10,000 and a Raya gift hamper to NKF.

HARLOW’S AND MGI SDN BHD PRESENTED RM20,000

In the spirit of sharing and caring during Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Encik Mohd Hatim Abdullah, the Executive Director of Harlow’s and MGI Sdn Bhd (HMGI) presented a mock cheque for RM20,000 to Mr. Chua Hong Wee, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) of Malaysia on 3 July 2018 at the Maya Hotel.

LIT RUN

From its futuristic neon theme to its glitzy glam carnival feel, the LIT Run was not only glowingly unforgettable but also successfully raised RM10,000 in aid of the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) of

Malaysia. Mr. Darren Tan, the founder of World Information Technology Foundation presented a mock cheque to Mr. Chua Hong Wee, the Chief Executive Officer of NKF Malaysia on 14 July 2018.

MAHAMAYURI FOUNDATION

On 29 September 2018, Dato’ Hong and Datin Helen of Mahamayuri Foundation presented a dialysis machine to Mr. Chua Hong Wee, the CEO of NKF at Pusat Dialisis NKF – Chempaka.

On that day, the Foundation also handed over Epoetin subsidies to 15 hard-core poor patients from 7 NKF dialysis centres, namely, Pusat Dialisis NKF – Good Health (Kampung Pandan, Kuala Lumpur), Pusat Dialisis NKF – Nanyang (Setapak, Kuala Lumpur), Pusat Dialisis NKF – Dato’ Dr. G.A. Sreenevasan (Petaling Jaya), Pusat Dialisis NKF – Bakti (Klang), Pusat Dialisis NKF – Fungates Superflow (Kepong, Kuala Lumpur), Pusat Dialisis NKF – Kelab Apex (Klang) and Pusat Dialisis NKF – Charis (Cheras).

BIKERS WITH A HEART OF GOLD

HTC Motorcycle Club founders ChoyG, PongG & LeongKG presented a dialysis machine to the partners of Pusat Dialysis NKF – Yayasan Buah Pinggang Kemaman, namely, Dato’ Mohamad Kamil Bin Othman and Tuan Haji Abdul Ghani Bin Haji Azhari.

This machine was raised through the 3-day Malaysia Day Charity Ride from 15 -17 September 2018 covering over 1,000km from Kuala Lumpur through Kemaman, Kuantan, Batu Pahat, Seremban and back to Kuala Lumpur.

AXA HEARTS IN ACTION RUN

On 30 September 2018, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AXA Affin General Insurance (AAGI) Berhad, Mr. Emmanuel Nivet, presented a mock cheque for RM20,000 to the CEO of the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) of Malaysia at Anjung Floria, Putrajaya.
